Sailing on my first adventure to Turkey felt like opening the doors to a treasure trove of miracles. The excitement loaded the air as I set bottom on Turkish soil portrayed with pledges of new gests and artistic absorption along with my other- 29ish family members. Unknown to me, this trip would sculpt reminiscences so picturesque they’d linger as a cherished study. As I mirror on my initial scrape with Turkey’s enchanting geographies, tempting aromas, and warm hospitality, I ’m drove to partake the tale of a voyage that sparked a lasting fondness for a country I yearn to re-explore.
01..0619: A Late-Night Arrival in Istanbul: In the quiet hours of June 1, 2019, our plane landed in Istanbul, marking the start of a week-long adventure. Tired yet filled with anticipation, we navigated through the city’s nocturnal embrace, reaching our hotel at 2:30 am. Rain-soaked luggage and weary bodies found comfort under covers, concluding a challenging journey and introducing a magical week.
02.06.19: Sultan Mosque: As dawn unfolded on June 2, we found ourselves within the revered walls of Sultan Mosque (formerly referred to as the Blue Mosque).
Prayers resonated through its whispering arches, revealing treasures like the first lock of the Holy Kaaba, the Kaaba’s first blackened stone, and belongings of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) and his daughter (Ma Fatema).
We explored these sacred artifacts from a distance, immersed in the history and spirituality woven into the mosque. The evening continued as a tapestry of laughter and shared meals, bringing us closer to the heart of Turkish culture.
03.06.19: Pammukale: Boarding a bus on June 3, we ventured to Pammukale—a mirage of white terraces and azure pools.
The day unfolded like a scene from a dream, where history and nature danced in harmony.
The
Bosporus cruise later became our vessel through Istanbul’s '
Black Sea' waterways, a sensory feast marked by street foods and vibrant markets.
04.06.19:Konya: June 4 found us on the road to Konya, a city steeped in mystique. Sufi mosques beckoned, and the streets offered a canvas for exploration.
Souvenirs, delicately crafted and uniquely Turkish, found their way into our hearts and luggage. As dusk settled, the road to Cappadocia whispered promises of cave hotels and a serendipitous encounter with a couple’s vows.
05.06.19: Cappadocia:
In the early hours of June 5, Cappadocia unveiled its magic—a ballet of hot air balloons pirouetted across the dawn sky.
While the short notice denied us a balloon ride, breakfast atop the hills painted the landscape with a palette of flavors. Souvenir shops, adorned with trinkets and memories, captured the essence of a captivating morning.
06.06.19: Konya: Returning to Konya on June 6, we indulged in a 4-star haven. A day of respite unfolded, culminating in a lavish dinner, a generous gift from an uncle. The city embraced us in its warmth, a brief interlude before bidding farewell.
07.06.19: Grand Bazaar: Our penultimate day, June 7, was a crescendo of exploration as we soared from Konya to Istanbul. The Grand Bazaar serenaded us with its melody, a symphony of colors, scents, and treasures. Our bags, now laden with fruits, nuts, and Turkish attire, echoed the richness of our experiences. As the day waned, Istanbul whispered its goodbyes. 08-09.06. 2019: In the final embrace of June 8, our flight from Konya to Istanbul marked the beginning of the end, leaving behind a city that had woven itself into our souls. The journey may have concluded, but the echoes of Turkey, painted in magic, lingered, promising a return to this captivating land.
In the heart of Turkey, our family’s Eid vacation unfolded as a grand spectacle, with over 30 of us weaving through the enchanting landscapes and vibrant markets. The sheer scale of our joy became a delightful surprise for the locals, echoing the belief that the more, the merrier. Did they expect to see such a big group? Nope. But were they elated to see such a big family? Definitely yes!
Amid the historic mosques and bustling bazaars, our family bond strengthened, turning this journey into a celebration of togetherness. As we left Turkey behind, the echoes of laughter and shared moments lingered, a testament to the magic that unfolds when family and an exquisite destination come together. If i ever had the chance to go there again, i would definitely take up the chance without hesitation. The goal now is to succeed in life and earn so much money and take my family to visit there again with my money (In Sha Allah).
